Plan the pathway beyond Year 12.

Direct university entry generally requires an ATAR. Students usually need at least four eligible TASC Level 3 or 4 subjects, although many complete five across Years 11 and 12. These subjects are demanding and students should be prepared to work consistently, seek help, attend tutorials and catch up promptly after absences.

Hellyer students may also explore University of Tasmania opportunities such as the University Connections Program and High Achiever Program, as well as pathway options through University College and mainland universities.

Vocational Education and Training can provide nationally recognised skills, practical experience and connections to industry. Students may continue to TasTAFE, seek an apprenticeship or traineeship, or move into employment.

Australian School-based Apprenticeships combine paid work, training and senior secondary study. Speak with the Careers Officer or your course counsellor to explore an option that suits your goals.
